I will be curating a group show with artists whose work explores similar shapes and subject matter to mine. Jen Bradford, a painter from Beacon N.Y., works to imply microscopic space and enormous expanse simultaneously.  Her lush paintings are saturated in color and texture and are both subtle and bold. Karen Kamenetzky, a fabric artist from Brattelboro, Vt also works with cellular imagery. She dyes, paints, and stitches cottons and silks to create boldly colored wall hangings.  Jodi Colella, a sculptor from Somerville, Ma., lets her hand spun plastic, tapestries of aluminum screen and steel wire, and felted orbs playfully mimic the patterns of science.  Constance Jacobson, an artist from Boston, Ma., creates hand drawn prints, paintings and digital art, examining the relationship between the artist and the scientist and between humans and all other vertebrates.  Susan Spencer Crowe, a sculptor from Kingston N.Y., will dazzle the eye with her biomorphic forms made from steel and fabric.
I will be including my paintings in the show.  For each of us, the finished pieces are our own personal statements about our relationship to our materials, our processes and to what we find beautiful and important.  The work of these artists will stir the soul and make us yearn to touch and be part of their work.
